Ethical Perspectives on Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs)

Participating journal: Ethics and Information Technology

This Topical Collection builds on the report published by European Commission in September 2020 “Ethics of Connected and Automated Vehicles: Recommendations on road safety, privacy, fairness, explainability and responsibility”. The report has been authored by an Independent Expert Group established by the European Commission to advise on specific ethical issues raised by driverless mobility for road transport, with the goal to promote a safe and responsible transition to connected and automated vehicles (CAVs). The contributions to this collection further discuss and elaborate on the selected assumptions and recommendations presented in the report from different disciplinary perspectives.
