This themed collection includes studies focusing on the role of research supervisors during the doctoral journey in, e.g. developing ethical competence of doctoral students and shaping their relevant perceptions, guiding their research (e.g. agreeing on authorship, reporting research ethics). The collection also presents studies focusing on the journey of doctoral students, e.g. ethical dilemmas during their research conduct, remedies in the occurrence of their alleged misbehaviour.
