Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for management of mental health and stress-related disorders

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps individuals recognize and modify faulty beliefs about psychosomatic illness such as “psychosocial stress cannot be controlled and I have no way of avoiding serious illness”. It also helps those to eliminate avoidant and safety-seeking behaviors that prevent the self-correction of faulty beliefs, leading to stress management for mental health and stress-related disorders. This thematic series in BioPsychoSocial Medicine will seek research reports on CBT to summarize recent advances of technology (i.e., computerized and web-based CBT), prevention (i.e., general population approach of CBT for mental health issues), and treatment (i.e., clinical application of CBT for a variety of psychosomatic illness) in a field of biopsychosocial medicine.
