Supply chain resilience has become increasingly crucial due to the unpredictable and
volatile nature of the business environment, which is subject to sudden disruptions, such
as natural disasters (Covid–19), political instability (Russo–Ukrainian War), and supply
chain cyber-attacks. These events can severely affect global organizations’ performance,
reputation, and financial position, resulting in revenue lost, opportunities missed, costs
increased, and customer relationship damaged. Thus, there is a growing need for
advanced methods and tools to help organizations evaluate or optimize the reliability
for supply chain resilience to mitigate the negative impacts of such disruptions. The
advanced methods could involve using mathematical models and algorithms to
optimize network design, risk analysis, and decision-making under uncertainty.
Additionally, advanced technology, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence,
could be utilized to identify and predict disruptions and develop proactive mitigation
strategies.
We invite submissions on topics related to supply chain resilience using Operations
Research methodologies. We encourage submissions focusing on advanced methods for
designing, planning, and optimizing supply chain networks that can withstand
unexpected events and disruptions. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
⚫ Robust supply chain network design
⚫ Supply chain resilience measurement and assessment
⚫ Supply chain disruption forecasting and response
⚫ Supply chain reliability and agility
⚫ Single-objective or multi-objective optimization about supply chain resilience
⚫ Simulation modeling for testing supply chain resilience
⚫ Collaborative approaches to building resilient supply chains
⚫ Data analytics and machine learning techniques for resilient supply chains
⚫ Decision-making under uncertainty in supply chain management
⚫ The impact of supply chain disruptions on inventory management
⚫ The role determination of transportation and logistics in supply chain resilience
We welcome original research papers that provide insights and solutions to the
challenges of building resilient supply chain networks. The papers should demonstrate
the applicability of Operations Research methods and techniques to real-world supply
chain problems.
