Healthcare in the context of global challenges
- Submission status
- Closed
BMC Nursing is calling for submissions to our Collection on Healthcare in the context of global challenges. The most recent technological advances have triggered social changes and contributed to significant improvements in healthcare. However, these have often occurred at the cost of increasing health inequalities. Global flows of people may further increase health disparities. Therefore, taking cultural diversity into account when exploring healthcare issues in the context of global challenges is particularly important.
The present collection welcomes papers that contribute to our understanding of caring for diverse populations in a global world. In particular, the collection's ultimate goal will be to examine diversity and global health through the lenses of the patient, family, communities, and healthcare providers, providing cutting-edge evidence to improve nursing practice worldwide.
We are interested in receiving papers covering a wide range of topics, including:
• Transcultural Nursing
• Cultural Competence
• Intersectionality
• Social determinants of health
• Global Health
• Public Health Nursing and Community Health Nursing
• LGBTIQA+ healthcare
• Refugee and migrant health
The collection invites the following types of articles for possible publication:
• Research articles
• Narrative reviews
• Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
• Scoping reviews
