Hye Ryung Byon
Hye Ryung Byon received her Ph. D. degree in chemistry at POSTECH in 2008 and did postdoctoral experience at MIT in 2008~2010. In 2011, she launched her independent research group, Byon Initiative Research Unit, at RIKEN in Japan. Since 2016, she has been an assistant/associate professor at KAIST. She received several awards, including the TJ Park Science Fellowship, The Distinguished Lectureship Award (Chemical Society of Japan) in 2017, and The Young Scientist Award (The Korean Academy of Science and Technology) in 2018. Her research interest is electrochemistry and in situ electrochemical analyses for energy storage and conversion systems.

Sung-Kyun Jung
Sung-Kyun Jung is an assistant professor of energy and chemical engineering at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). He completed his Ph.D. in 2018 at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Seoul National University (SNU), where he received his B.Sc. and M.S. degree. Since 2018, he was a staff researcher at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) until May 2021, before moving to UNIST. His research laboratory focuses on materials and interface design for high energy density rechargeable batteries based on advanced characterization technique using in-situ and synchrotron X-ray analysis.
