Abstract
There is wide agreement among scholars that Arabs’ integration in the Israeli labor market is limited by their deficiencies and by discrimination by both governmental policies and employers (Semyonov and Lewin-Epstein, 1994; Khattab, 2003; Schnell and Sofer, 2006; Miaari et al., 2009; Miaari and Khattab, 2013; Khamaisi, 2013; Shdema, 2013). These mechanisms should be understood in the context of a well-structured system that subordinates Arabs within the ethnic democracy of Israel (Zureik, 1979; Smooha and Beret, 2010). However, the role of spatial considerations in understanding Arabs’ integration in the labor market has remained marginal.
