Abstract
One of the developing enablers of cybercrime in recent years is the use of social media. Chan, Goggin, and Bruce (2010, p. 593) found the term “social media” to be “a rather broad and vague term for a range of new Internet technologies that work on principles of social networking and other new forms of association.” They went on to explain that social networking sites (SNS) “link friends and acquaintances, providing ways not only to create very large groups and networks, but new ways of presenting the self, and communicating with others” (Chan et al. 2010, p. 593).
