Inter-Perspective Pedagogy: Rethinking Culture and Learning in Multicultural Higher Education in the United Kingdom

  • Chapter
Researching Intercultural Learning

Abstract

This chapter discusses the key challenges faced by learners from different cultures when they encounter higher education (HE) pedagogy during their sojourn of learning in the United Kingdom. The empirical work on which the discussion is based draws on the learning experiences of 30 international students reading for postgraduate degrees (2002–06) and on a follow-up study that is based on the teaching experience of 15 academics in three UK universities (2007–08).
