Oligocence dinoflagellate-cysts in Quaternary freshwater sediments of Eifel maars

Abstract

Well preserved dinoflagellate-cysts, indicating an oligocene age, were found in young-quarternary fresh water maare-lake sediments. They are the remnants of a former wide spread transgression from the Mainz-Basin into the Eifel-area.
