Abstract
This paper presents a User-Friendly Tool dedicated to Structure Editing and Meshing of large Planar Antennas and Arrays (completed under ESA/Saab Ericsson Space contract), based on the new Multilevel Interactive Objects (MIO) approach, and written in JAVA, the only object-oriented, graphical, network language.
The MIO models planar metallizations by using hierarchic levels of components. A number of fixed-shaped Circuit Components is defined (such as Patches T-junctions, etc). By combining them, the user can interactively define parametric Blocks, allowed also to contain other Blocks. This embedded CAD structure is later used in a Solver based on a domain-decomposition approach, alowing to (efficiently) analyse large antennas. The CAD JAVA Tool allows to compose a planar antenna structure simbolically, automatically showing its geometrical layout. The first results obtained show optimal accuracy and performances.
