Abstract
Within the EUROMED project, we are performing two main tasks concerning the development of software packages in the fields of telemedicine and computer aided diagnosis: CAMD (Computer Aided Medical Diagnosis) and TeleEEG (Telemedical Software Package for EEG).
CAMD is an integrated software system which could aid the medical diagnostician during the diagnosis of breast cancer. It is an automatic classifier, which is able to discriminate between benign and malignant cells from a Fine Needle Aspirate sample. Moreover, it includes telemedicine features in order to allow remote diagnoses via Internet. It has been implemented within Windows 95 environment and provides a user friendly interface. A new development has been the integration of CAMD in the Web.
TeleEEG is a software package to support EEG analysis. It provides the following functionalities: EEG data acquisition and standardisation, patient data-base management, EEG data archive embedded into patient data base, EEG data visualisation and printing, EEG and patient data exchange among different TeleEEG stations.
