Abstract
This paper attempts to refine the asymptotic analysis of methane flames initiated in [1,2] by considering non-equilibrium of reaction II everywhere in the oxidation layer. It shows that such an analysis in principle can be done but that many parameters enter into the formulation. Nevertheless, the essence of the structure originally proposed in
