Abstract
Wavelength-dependent polarization observations of BL Lacertae objects are discussed in terms of magnetic field geometry, electron velocity anisotropy, and Faraday rotation. Wavelength- and time-dependent polarization observations of BL Lac itself are used to investigate the polarization characteristics of one variability event without resorting to the use of adjustable fitting parameters. Simultaneous and nearly-simultaneous optical and radio polarization measurements (including those made with VLBI) of Q7 287 are also compared and discussed. A method of parameterizing the variability of polarized sources is outlined.
