Abstract

Symbolic computing and artificial intelligence (AI) have found many task specific applications in engineering. The recent emergence of network computing, taking advantage of communication and information management technologies, has broadened the scope of engineering software to support collaborative engineering. This workshop paper describes some of the recent and current research by the author and his colleaques in the development of preliminary analysis and conceptual design tools and in the areas of information management and software interoperability to support collaborative engineering and enterprise integration.
