Abstract

In today's environment characterized by multiple crises, competitive pressure, and the emergence of new sophisticated technologies, supply chains (SCs) are constantly exposed to several risks that can jeopardize the continuity of their activities and, consequently, their sustainability. In this context, SC actors are increasingly taking into account the sustainability aspect in their risk management processes. Researchers, for their part, have begun to integrate the dimensions of sustainability into supply chain risk management (SCRM) research. This study conducted a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA flow diagram, to systematically analyze past scientific studies discussing the relationship between SCRM and sustainability. The results of this study indicate that SCRM positively impacts SC sustainability, and constitutes a factor of sustainability performance in SCs. In turn, sustainability practices have a positive influence on SCRM. This review also highlights the various assessment frameworks for sustainable supply chain risk management (SSCRM) suggested in the literature. At the end of the study, we have drawn attention to the need for more in-depth empirical studies on the SCRM-sustainability relationship and the generalization of SSCRM assessment frameworks to other contexts.
