Abstract
At the turn of the century, two large countries China and India were during economic, political and social transition. Each country with a unique historical trajectory, political and social determinants were breaking away from their traditional pasts and moving on the world stage as competitors to the Western world. At the heart of these changes were also massive poverty reduction in the two countries, with China leading the way.
