Abstract
Good quality food is everyone’s priority in the current scenario as we have gone through a tough time in last 2 years because of pandemic. In India, agriculture has major impact on our economy. Agriculture is main resource to supply basic row materials necessary for industrialization and for need of mankind. In changing environment and technology, farming also need to be changed from traditional farming to smart farming. Most farmers are depending on farming as reliable source of livelihood for their families. Approximately two-third of working population depends on agriculture for their earning in rural area. Agriculture too plays an outstanding role in country growth. Potential input of farming to the growth in backcountry is providing enrollment, small upholding jobs depends on agriculture, etc. In the recent age, farmers from India also informed about latest trends new automations that helps authority to change traditional habit of planning into smart culture. The most common and powerful method of new days farming is adopting IOT. Internet of Things is network of connected physical devices like sensors, mobile, embedded systems and objects like people, smart tools through the medium of computer program applications. Data collection is done by the physical devices like sensors which get transferred to the “thing” mean people or object who can take an appropriate action based on received data. In this paper, we are presenting a detailed review on emerging techniques in irrigation based on IOT. We begin with basic idea of how IOT is useful in smart farming. We explore the different fields in farming, where IOT is applicable. Then, we review emerging IOT-based techniques used for drip irrigation.
