Abstract
In this book, we outlined and discussed various dominant paradigms in qualitative research––the Gioia, Yin-Eisenhardt, and Langley approaches––and demonstrated the abilities of computer-assisted qualitative research software (CAQDAS) particularly RQDA to extend and enrich the Gioia approach. We demonstrated how the fusion of R capabilities and the Gioia approach enhanced the trustworthiness and rigor of qualitative research and improved communication among researchers and gatekeepers (journal reviewers and editors). We believe that this systematic, transparent, trustworthy, creative yet disciplined approach to qualitative theorizing can help legitimize qualitative research and place it on par with other types of research including variance-based, simulation-based, experiment-based, and mathematics-based methodologies.
