Abstract
I grew up on a farm adjacent to the twinkling waters of Malpeque Bay. There, with 1,000 acres as my classroom, I became a creature of the land. Despite the many years and meandering paths that have created physical distance, I continue to feel a deep resonance with the place I first called home. I know neither why nor how I remain soulfully connected to it, but I often wonder if it is born of the same irreducible chemistry that leads people to fall in love. I do not fancy myself a romantic.
