Abstract
My assignment from the editors of this book was to explain experiential education and show its connection to the Foxfire approach to teaching and learning. At first I felt this was a daunting task and I wasn’t sure how to begin. Why was I stumped as I prepared to write this chapter? Perhaps this was because of the complexities involved in the various educational philosophies, principles, and practices. Before I approached my computer, I read about experiential education from my personal library.
