Abstract
With that he was selected at twenty years old to be the geologist on an expedition to Antarctica with Ernest Shackleton. This was a break that would change the course of Raymond Priestley’s life. He walked out of Bristol University, left his studies behind and set sail in The Nimrod in 1907.
