Abstract
The TRansformation Induced Plasticity (TRIP) phenomenon is clearly displayed when an inelastic strain occurs under an applied stress lower than the yield stress of the weaker phase. TRIP effect is attributed to the interaction between two basic mechanisms, namely the Magee and Greenwood Johnson. A quantitative description of such mechanisms is experimentally possible through non-proportional loading paths corresponding to the “creep” test. A micromechanical model is presented and tested under such conditions.
