Abstract
Parallels between seed health testing and the screening of plant production for disease during micropropagation are not superficially obvious but brief consideration will show that theY., nonetheless, exist. Both procedures have the ultimate objective of contributing to the production of healthy plants and are multiplication processes where infection or contamination at an early stage can lead to the proliferation of micro-organisms throughout production. These micro-organisms can be overtly pathogenic or otherwise interfere to reduce final yield and quality either in the field or in the tissue culture laboratory [1].
