Abstract
To date four surveys of the European plant tissue culture industry have been carried out by COST 87. This was a European co-operative research programme of “Plant In Vitro Culture”. The surveys were organised by the Management Committee and show the changes that have taken place from 1982 to 1993. The directories were published by the European Commission [1–3], the latest in March 1994 [4]. This article discusses the additional information that was obtained in the survey and not included in the Directory. Details from earlier surveys have been already published [5,6].
