Abstract
Photography in otolaryngology is complicated by the fact that with the exception of the facial surface nearly all the structures to be photographed are hidden within the head and neck. Due to this fact recording of disease or therapy in otolaryngology must often be done with help of endoscopes and/or the surgical microscope. In such instances it is often necessary for the physician himself to do the photography, as knowledge of endoscopical procedure and the related anatomy is necessary for the recognition of features of interest.
