Abstract
Reflection character analysis involves study of the changes in the waveshape of one or more reflections associated with a reflectivity change. The objective of reflection character analysis is to interpret trace-to-trace waveshape changes in terms of changes in the stratigraphy or fluid in the pore spaces. Reflection character analysis usually involves both forward and inverse modeling (see chapter 7).
