Abstract

This chapter considers all known nutrient requirements of tilapias and is intended to complement Chapter 3, which considers feeding mechanisms, diet and trophic efficiencies in tilapias. It should be noted that the current chapter does not attempt to extend requirement data into the development of practical feeds or feeding strategies and that this topic is amply covered elsewhere (De Silva and Anderson, 1995; Jauncey, 1998).
