Abstract
Recently there has been movement around the world to introduce probability into elementary and secondary curricula, for a variety of reasons: it is required for reading newspapers, being an informed citizen, it helps one to understand and evaluate information in the world around us, and it is prerequisite to entering many other fields of study (Råde, 1985). In the present school systems of the world, students may encounter probability topics, by themselves or in connection with descriptive statistics, as early as age six, as late as upper secondary school, or not at all.
