Abstract
The Dutch Butterfly Foundation (DBF, De Vlinderstichting) was founded in 1983. Its main aim is to maintain and restore the Dutch butterfly fauna. Starting with a small group of enthusiastic volunteers, it soon grew to become the focus for butterfly research in The Netherlands (together with the Agricultural University of Wageningen). At present the foundation employs 12 staff.
