Abstract
So what is total quality management? The acronym ‘TQM’ is perhaps one of the most widely used business expressions and has certainly been liberally used as a generic descriptor of the quality development efforts in recent years. In an academic sense, total quality is the integrated application of all the techniques described throughout this book within some kind of coherent implementation framework. In more simple language total quality management can be thought of as ‘involving everyone and all aspects of an organization in continuous improvement through teamwork.’
