Abstract
In this, the final chapter, we shall peek at some of the adjacent fields of inquiry in order to better locate ours. We shall try and see what they look like in the light of our semantic candle. In each case we shall have to limit ourselves to examining a few typical problems. Moreover our discussion will be rather quick, as our aim is to explore the nature of the bonds between the semantics of science and its nearest neighbors rather than to examine the latter in detail. We shall first glance at mathematics, or rather its philosophy, then at three traditional branches of philosophy: logic, epistemology, and metaphysics.
