Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe Samoan folk knowledge of mental disorders and to examine how this body of knowledge articulates with other aspects of Samoan culture and society. Samoan folk knowledge provides descriptions of mental disorders and propositions about the causes and treatment of these problems.
