Abstract
In man, direct recordings can seldom be made from the various neural structures along the visual pathway, and in general only gross potentials can be derived. Of these the electroretinogram (ERG) is fairly easy to measure and has good reproducibility both in the same subject and among different subjects. This paper describes an application of ERG recordings to obtain insight into the spectral characteristics of the visual pigments.
