Light Scattering from Molten Salts: Structure and Dynamics

  • Chapter
Molten Salts: From Fundamentals to Applications

Part of the book series: NATO Science Series ((NAII,volume 52))

Abstract

Much of our knowledge about structure and dynamics in solids, liquids or gasses comes from the interaction (scattering) between externally imposed stimuli and the system under study. Light has proved to be one of the best such stimuli that can furnish a great deal of important information over wide spatial and temporal ranges [14]. Undoubtedly, other scattering techniques like neutron and x-rays, applicable to other space and time regimes provide complementary data to light scattering [5].
