Abstract
Up to the present point, genetic considerations have been of minor importance to the topics that have been discussed. This is true even though in some instances it has been the analysis of gene frequencies that have been of interest. However, the present chapter brings a change of emphasis. Now the genetics of selection becomes the main concern, particularly gene frequency changes from generation to generation at a single genetic locus.
