Summary
In crop rotation experiments, tuber yields of ware potatoes, cv. Bintje, were reduced after peas and lucerne as previous crops. Potatoes cropped before peas and field beans also had a negative influence on the crop height of peas and of field beans and on yield of field beans. This influence was less apparent in field beans when grass seed (Italian Rye) was included in the rotation.
The yield depression of potatoes after peas and lucerne was probably caused by Verticillium dahliae.
