Abstract

In 1973 Ehlers and Jensen described what they called central retinal angiopathy in three members of a family. They first examined a 40 year old woman with bilateral visual loss and later found similar fundus lesions in her 66 year old mother and a 38 year old brother, although their visual acuity was normal. Hutton et al. [16] observed in four patients — two of them were sisters — telangiectasis, localized to the temporal perifoveal area of both eyes.
