Abstract
The nutrition of sugar beet was last comprehensively described about 20 years ago (Draycott, 1972). That review brought together for the first time over half a century of research, mainly carried out in Europe and the USA, into the macro- and micronutrient requirements of the crop. Investigations have continued apace in nearly every country where the crop is grown and this chapter aims to summarise the current state of knowlege.
