Abstract
This study was conducted to compare the forage performance of doubled haploid (DH) lines derived from anther culture of superior individual plants with corresponding field-selected mid-generation progenies in a greenhouse hydroponic system. Although the differences between these two methods were not significant with respect to dry matter, total biomass and grain yield, the DH’s were characterized both higher means and higher frequencies of high yielding lines than the corresponding mid-generation materials.
