Samenvatting
Bij het ouder worden komt de klacht duizeligheid vaker voor. Duizeligheid en syncope benadelen het algeheel functioneren van de patiënt en reduceren daarmee de kwaliteit van leven. Doordat vaker meerdere typen duizeligheid aanwezig zijn, is het herkennen en diagnosticeren van de etiologie van duizeligheid en syncope belangrijk om zodoende een adequaat behandelplan op te stellen. Na het bestuderen van dit hoofdstuk kent u de verschillende soorten duizeligheid, de oorzaken van syncope, hoe u de duizeligheidsklacht kunt onderzoeken en de aanbevelingen voor behandeling en leefstijl.
