mrsa is Staphylococcus aureus die ongevoelig (resistent) is geworden voor de gebruikelijke antistafylokokken-antibiotica (meticilline en tegenwoordig flucloxacilline). Het is daarom van belang dat verspreiding en epidemieën worden voorkomen.
