I sistemi di diagnosi assistita dal computer, o CAD (Computer-Aided Detection), sono piattaforme informatiche che aiutano il radiologo nella diagnosi, evidenziando le più probabili sedi di malattia o suggerendo la natura, benigna o maligna, di un reperto. Nel modello, la diagnosi definitiva è del radiologo che deve decidere se accogliere o no le segnalazioni del CAD.
