La rapida evoluzione della colonscopia virtuale (CV) ha comportato la necessità di una standardizzazione nella refertazione di tale esame. Linee guida standardizzate consentono, infatti, di poter trovare un linguaggio comune tra i radiologi e gli altri specialisti in modo da poter inquadrare i pazienti e decidere quindi l’iter diagnostico e terapeutico più appropriato da seguire. Già il BIRADS (Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System), in ambito senologico, ha dimostrato quanto sia importante utilizzare una classificazione comune per inquadrare la patologia senologica, rendendo più semplice una collaborazione e più immediato un confronto tra i risultati ottenuti in centri differenti [1].
