Abstract
Erythroid Krüppel-like factor (EKLF) is a transcriptional activator that was originally identified in 1993 and has since provided a significant window into the carefully orchestrated process of erythroid gene expression, particularly as it plays a critical role in β-like hemoglobin switching. However, later observations have suggested other roles for this protein. This presentation discusses the lines of evidence that together open up a new hematopoietic horizon for EKLF function.
