Abstract
It is well known that in Anisakis infections remarkable eosinophilic infiltrations are seen in the tissue surrounding the larvae and that the imbedded area of the worms shows a strong allergic reaction. A reliable diagnosis of anisakiasis depends on recovery of the worms. The morphological examinations, however, are not easy and are often very difficult in chronic cases or where there is a latent clinical symptomatology.
