Prognostic factors in surgical patients with hepatocellular carcinoma

  • Chapter
Primary Liver Cancer in Japan

Abstract

Primary hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the most prevalent fatal tumors in Korea. Without surgical resection or other forms of treatment, patients usually die within 6 months after the appearance of symptoms, but if the tumor is completely resected, the 5-year survival rate is almost 30%. Complete surgical resection plays a leading role in current treatment.
