Abstract

The accuracy of radiological diagnosis of brain tumors has improved remarkably with the introduction of MRI. The resolution of MRI had been considered poorer than that of CT; but with the introduction of the superconductive MRI and the development of gadolinium diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA), the quality of MRI as well as its accuracy in diagnosis have far surpassed those of CT. This has now often rendered the use of CT unnecessary.
