Herkömmliche Arbeitszeitmodelle sind dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass arbeitsvertraglich eine bestimmte Arbeitszeitdauer fixiert ist. Die Einhaltung des vereinbarten Arbeitsvolumens obliegt dabei entweder der Kontrolle des Arbeitgebers (z. B. im Rahmen der Normalarbeitszeit) oder der Eigenverantwortung des Arbeitnehmers (z. B. bei der Vertrauensarbeitszeit).
