Zusammenfassung
Ganz allgemein und integrierend formuliert Sattler: „Unter dem Markenwert (Brand Equity) eines Produkts soll hier derjenige Wert verstanden werden, der mit dem Namen oder Symbol der Marke verbunden ist“ (Sattler 1994, 664). Jedoch ergibt sich aus dem Abgleich unterschiedlicher, zum Teil sehr divergierender Auffassungen zum Begriff Markenwert bzw. „brand equity“ (vgl. Sander 1994, 43ff., Maretzki 2001, 34ff.), dass allen Definitionen zumindest eines gemeinsam ist: Der Versuch, die Gesamtwirkung der Marke zu quantifizieren und – teilweise – in einen monetären Wert zu überführen.
